Brokers become stakeholders

The Business in Romania Blog discussed earlier about the merger between BVB and RASDAQ to be postponed for mid 2005.

This matter will be discussed in nest Shareholders meeting that will take place at BVB next week, when the issue of making BVB a shareholding company will be raised.

BVB is currently organized as an association of brokerage companies, but will turn into a shareholding company soon, it seems.

The total social capital of BVB is about 5.300 milion EURO and it will be splitted among the 67 companies that are members of BVB.

Mr. Stere Farmache, General Manager of BVB says it is possible to think of a merger between BVB and RASDAQ in the next 3 to 6 months.
