Hi,
I believe you all know about the bad issues between Romania and Ukraine concerning the Danube Delta. If you support Romania in this issue, please show your support by signing the following online petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/RomDelta/petition.html Thank you. Again, Bill Gates makes a promise for the Longhorn release...this time he states a more generous deadline, the late 2006. This is more than 2 years from now.
Even if Microsoft will manage to stick to the schedule, this means more than 5 years between Windows XP and Longhorn. Plus, in order to stick to the deadline, Microsoft addmited some functionality features will be cut-off from the initial plan. Hopefully, Linux will have some good releases until 2006. Apple is scheduled to release Tiger in late 2005, so by the time Longhorn hits the market, the competition will be tough. Posted by Mihai : 8/31/2004 10:46:00 am
Hello,
As you probably know, the Systems fair in Munich is one of the most powerful software fairs in Europe. This year, it will be held between 18 and 22 October. Romania and Kondiment Solutions will be there, having a booth in the Software Outsourcing section of the fair. Last year, the fair hosted over 1300 exhibitors and welcomed more than 70.000 visitors from all across the world. I hope it's gonna be as good as the previous year, with a lot of business-oriented people and a lot of business opportunities. See you there ! Posted by Mihai : 8/31/2004 10:41:00 am

I would like to salute the launch of http://academiadestudiieconomice.blogspot.com.
It is the blog of a friend of mine who plans to reveal some of the most stupid (but real) happenings in the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. I wish him good luck and I hope he finds time to write as often as possible. It is a really interesting blog to read. Mihai. Posted by Mihai : 8/30/2004 04:16:00 pm
Hello,
This is the first blog of Business-Romania.blogspot.com. For the first blog, I would like to draw attention on a very nasty accident that happened a few days ago in the Constanta harbour. A ucranian ship tried (and managed) to cause an accident with a Turkish ship, by deliberately not following the harbour's navigation instructions. You can find a detailed presentation of the accident (very similar to the Rostok accident) here: http://www.ziua.net/ct.php?id=25219&ziua=47f03477b5c5ee177f10c9fd2e0aca55. Mihai. I would like to congratulate the Romanian Athletes for their success at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games !!
Romania managed to win a total of 19 medals (8 - gold, 5 - silver and 6 - bronze), and stands on 14th position in the countries chart. Romanian winners were: http://www.athens2004.com/en/OlympicMedals/medals?noc=ROM It is a great succes for Romania, specially if you take into considerations the poor training conditions in the country and very low participation budgets. I believe a US NBC comentator said it very nice that: "If after this olympic games Romanian gymnastics had an IPO, ... like Google... through the roof..." Congratulations again !!! And congratulations also for no dopping problems for any of the Romanian athletes. Maria Olaru in action - Athens 2004 Mihai. Posted by Mihai : 8/29/2004 04:49:00 pm

I read recently that a guy pretends himself to be QT over the web, in a public Blog.
Of course, there are some folks who believe him. Other ask for proofs, but the "QT" says he doesn't want to make any public announcement about the blog (this being the ultimate proof). A spokesman of the FilmMaker dismissed eventualy any connection between QT and the blog. Some guys really live a paralel live over the web, I guess..... By the way, you are now reading a Blog by Mihai Botea. Or is it just a guy who pretends to be me? :)) Cheers ! Posted by Mihai : 8/27/2004 12:23:00 pm

Hi,
I've been using the www.grid.org application for quite a while now (over 4 months, I believe) and I would like to recommend it to you all. Even though it might look like the typical install and background - run application, it is quite different. First of all, the purpose of the application is a social one: you help researchers to discover cure for 2 maladies: cancer and small-pox. Then, the application is very PC-friendly, as it only consumes resources you are not using in the present time. It consumes only processor and RAM, keeping the Internet connection free. Also, if you want you can customize it to run only as a screen-saver, keeping all your computer resources free at all time. Third, the team-based concept is very interesting and it gives a sense of competition tat can only be benefic in donating more resources for this purpose. I recommand you to read more about this at: http://www.grid.org/about/gc/ - The basics of grid computing http://www.grid.org/projects/patriot.htm - The projects at Grid.org http://www.grid.org/help/faq_howitworks.htm - How It works FAQ If you want to download and install the software, this is the link: http://www.grid.org/download/gold/download.htm Afterwards, please join the PULP FICTION team. All the best, Mihai. Posted by Mihai : 8/26/2004 04:24:00 pm
Hello and welcome !
This is the first blog...hope I will find time for many more. The first thing I would love to blog about is the Google Answers service (http://answers.google.com). Great service for those of you in the Research business. You can search free in thousands of researches done by real profesionals and you can ask for your own customized research. Of course, for this you have to pay (between 2 and 100 USD). The higher the payment, the better the results. Anyway, it's a true value for the money. Wondering how they do hirings....? This is all for the first. BRB. Mihai. Posted by Mihai : 8/26/2004 02:45:00 pm |
