Orange exceeds Connex in users

The mobile telephony operator, Orange Romania had, at the end of September 2004, a number of 4,371,347 users, overtaking with 1,602 its opponent’s users database, MobiFon, which amounted to 4,369,745 users, results from the quarter reports of these two companies. Orange Romania and MobiFon, the Connex network operator, are the most important players on the Romanian mobile phone market.

In the first half of this year, Orange Romania reported an increase in the number of clients with 52.8%, to 3.957 million persons, compared with January-June 2003. At the same time, Connex draw 417,810 new users in the second quarter, its clients’ database amounting in June, 30, 4,089,948 persons, rising with 48.9% compared to the same interval in 2003.
