Belgian beer giant InBev SA said Friday that its sales volumes for 2004 rose 60 per cent, mostly due to the merger between Interbrew and AmBev that created the world's biggest beer producer, as well as improvements in central and eastern Europe.
Discounting the effect of acquisitions, volume growth was much more modest at 3.3 per cent.
Even though in in western Europe InBev was underperforming, with volume declining by 2.3 per cent, In Central and Eastern Europe, particularly in Romania and Bulgaria, InBev was outperforming.
Seems that Romanians like Stella Artois and Becks.
Cheers !
