The granting of public acquisition contracts will be monitored and evaluated by a special national authority, which will apply European regulations and prevent abuses in the spending of public money.
The government approved this decision through an ordinance Wednesday.
The National Authority for Ruling and Monitoring Public Acquisitions would work under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister and would make sure that all public acquisitions are transparent, fair and effective.
The institution would be operational by October and would be led by a State Secretary appointed by the Prime Minister.
