Romania's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is estimated to grow by 8.3 percent year on year, and projected according to estimates of the National Commission for Economic Projections (CNP), "ACT Media News Agency" reports.
Industrial output is expected to advance 5.7 percent year on year in 2005, while agriculture output is projected to grow 2.8 percent. Final consumption is also expected to increase by 7 percent overall - individual consumption by 7.4 percent and collective consumption by 1.4 percent. Domestic demand is expected to go up 7.7 percent. According to CNP projections, goods exports will stand at 21.9 billion euros (a 15-percent annual growth), while CIF imports are expected to touch $30.9 billion ( a 17.9 percent year-on-year rise) and FOB imports will go up 17.9 percent to $28.6 billion. Exports should go up to 32.2 billion euros and imports should reach 43.99 billion euros in CIF prices in 2008, according to the same projections. Consumer price index should increase by 8.1 percent on the average in 2005, by 6 percent in 2006, by 4.4 percent in 2007 and by 3.5 percent in 2008. The employment base is also expected to further by 1.3 percent in 2005 to 4.7 million and reach 4.832 million in 2008. Average gross wages are projected at 13.032 million old lei in 2008, and estimated to stand at 9.473 million in 2005.
