Orange Romania jas distinguished itself as one of the most powerful investors in Romania, being in the same time very close to the people and to the Romanian culture.
After Bernard Moscheni leaving Orange, Richard Moat looks like continuing the adventure and keeping Orange at the same high level. Here is some news about Orange investment plans. source: Bucharest Daily News Mobile phone operator Orange Romania will next year invest more than 200 million dollars in infrastructure which is required for the expansion of the coverage area for GSM and Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution (EDGE) technologies, yesterday stated Richard Moat, the executive director of the company. He went on to say "these funds will be used to expand the EDGE technology coverage area for 70% of Romania's population and extend the existing technology," as the company's 2005 forecasts "show 45% more traffic compared to this year." Moat added a part of these investments will be directed to the implementation of universal service, which is a program developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Technology (MCTI), by creating telecommunications centers in isolated Romanian villages. These telecommunications centers will be connected to the Internet and each will have four computers, a printer, a fax and a telephone. In addition, the Orange office network will increase by twenty-five offices in five new locations. Posted by Mihai : 12/01/2004 02:38:00 pm |
